Please understand that you take full responsibility for all pictures, information, and logo you send to us and you agree to comply with all copyright laws. Ohio Laser Creations LLC is not responsible if you do not have these rights. If you have any questions please contact us prior to placing your order. Once your order is made it cannot be cancelled or modified.

  • I Took The Photo With My Phone, How Do I Send It With My Order?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • What If I Don't Have A Digital Image, Only A Printed Photo?

You can either mail us your photo (we will return the photo along with your laser engraved item); or you can scan the photo and e-mail it. When scanning, we recommend you scan at minimum 300 DPI to obtain good detail.

  • I Want To Send You A Photo I Saw On Facebook Or Instagram, Will That Work?

Photos and images from web pages such as Facebook or Instagram are re-sized down to 72 DPI, which is a very small image size. It is difficult to make small images appear crisp and clear. It would be best to get the original non re-sized image if at all possible. View the image by zooming way in on a large screen to get an idea of what the image may look like when enlarged.

  • Should I Crop Or Re-Size The Image Before Sending?

No, sending us your original non-modified image would be best. We will take great care in cropping and making adjustments to the image for the very best laser engraving possible. The higher the detail in the photo, the better the engraving will be, and every time a photo is modified or re-sized it loses precious detail. For the very best laser engraved photo, send us a large, original image with the subject in crisp focus.

  • What types of images are best for engraving?

When it comes to quality, the higher the quality of the image greatly determines the quality of the engraving. Most images are acceptable for engraving, some are not. The ones that are not usually have certain characteristics about them such as very faded, very low detail or the subject has a shadow over it. Usually the higher the detail and the better the contrast the better the results. Some images just need a minor adjustment and we provide this service free with each order.

When it comes to image size, the larger the image the better. With that said it’s better to not resize the image before either uploading or emailing any image file.

  • What megapixel camera works the best?

Using a 6 megapixel camera is recommended and will produce a crisper image on a larger canvas such as 18” x 24”. A 4 megapixel will have the same results but on a smaller canvas such as 8.5” x 11”. A minimum of 300 dpi is recommended.

Pictures taken with your cell phone should be set on a minimum of 2 megapixels, 3 meg and over is preferred. You may send us an electronic formatted picture you have and we will do our best to provide you with the highest quality possible but cannot guarantee the quality.

  • Do you laser engrave knives?

Yes, we have done knives of all types, sizes, and shapes. Best thing is bring it into the store.

  • How can I clean my marble and granite?

The best method of cleaning engraved marble and granite is with a dry cloth. If necessary use a damp cloth to remove light stains and residue. Never use soap or detergent to clean marble as it can stain the surface. If the piece is to be placed outside calcium deposits can build up and discolor the engraving, it's recommended to lightly wipe the marble or granite periodically.

  • Materials that should not be cut or engraved with a laser

There are materials that should never be processed with a laser because this will lead to the creation of toxic gases or dust which can also damage the machine.

These materials include (but are not limited to):

    • Leather and artificial leather that contains chromium (VI)
    • Carbon fibers (Carbon)
    • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
    • Polyvinyl butyrale (PVB)
    • Polytetrafluoroethylenes (PTFE /Teflon)
    • Beryllium oxide
    • Any material containing halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine and astatine), epoxy or phenolic resins
  • How can I clean my wood engraving?

We have found that using furniture polish works well for cleaning and preserving engraved wood. To clean using furniture polish spray a light amount onto a soft cloth and lightly clean around the engraved area. Try not to spray directly on the piece as some polish may get into the fine details.

  • Metal Marking with a CO2 Laser

CO2 laser machines can directly mark a variety of coated metals such as anodized aluminum or powder coated stainless steel. However, bare metals reflect the wavelength of a CO2 laser, meaning direct marking typically requires a fiber laser source. But CO2 laser can be pre-treated with a metal marking compound prior to engraving with a CO2 laser.
